Water You Gonna Do About This Weight Gain???

Did I mention that in addition to shedding this "No I'm Not Pregnant" weight I am trying to be an elf for health? I've taken part in this little challenge where we get matched up with another "elf" and encourage each other toward our goals and try to hit certain daily targets.  Some days have been better than others for me on the challenge.  Yesterday's objective was to drink your weight in ounces of water.  That seems like an awful lot of water to me, but I gave it a shot.  It's not easy to drink that much water during your work day.  People talk.  And yes, I did the math and this comes out to a staggering 23 glasses of water for the day.  I kind of knew I was going to fall short of this from the start.  I can only spend so much of my day at the office peeing.  But, for me, this was kind of a shoot for the moon land among the stars kind of thing.  I didn't have 184 ounces of water, I'm sorry Lindsay and Elle!  But, with the intent to go big, I did drink 90 ounces and I think that's pretty darn good (yesterday would have been a great day to weigh 90 pounds, actually everyday for that matter).  Water is a big part of weight loss.  I try to imagine my fat washing away with all the water I drink.  The visual helps, however off the mark it may or may not be.  I've never been able to take off significant pounds if I'm not significantly hydrated.  And speaking of taking off pounds (what a segway, huh?)...

Thank you very much, Pinterest, for this stellar idea.  I swear, who needs to buy a book or do anything anymore now that we have the internet?  You could learn all the basics of losing weight (or almost anything for that matter) simply with a Pinterest account.  (And then you could quickly unravel all that progress by pinning the orgasm-worthy desserts).  I highly recommend the site.  My above "Pounds To Go" jar includes 49 pieces of multi-colored vase filler that I thought were very pretty.  I know the challenge is 40 in 40 weeks, but my overall hope beyond my "pregnancy" is to drop a total of 49 pounds bringing me to a long-time coveted 135 pounds. Too bad I can't do some breast-feeding at the conclusion of this challenge.  I've heard that burns some serious calories.  At any rate, my challenge total will bring me down to 144 and truthfully, I may like that weight so much that I'll stay there but this number 135 has been in my head for so long, I figure, may as well take a healthy shot.  Wouldn't it be great if I could just switch the labels on those jars?  Hard work seems kind of, well, hard but to quote Jimmy Dugan in "A League of Their Own" (again), "The hard is what makes it great".  If you say so, Tom Hanks, then it must be true.  Cheers to hard work (and lots of water)!
